A veteran NYPD officer pleaded guilty Monday to charges he helped run a gun-smuggling operation with fellow police officers that trafficked more than $1 million in illegal weapons and stolen goods.

William Masso, of the 68th police precinct in Brooklyn, was arrested in October on charges of conspiring to sell M-16 rifles and guns in exchange for cash payments.

Atane this one is for you:

Surely we see the pinnacle of criminality, deceit and the wanton lawlessness of a pathological nature within the NYPD illustrated by the fact that in the same time frame in which a young black man suspected of having a gun he DID NOT have is chased into his home and shot dead by police, we find out the ring leader of a gang of police officers involved in a gun smuggling operation pleads guilty as charged.

Why is a young black man who did not have a gun on his person dead, while a guy who lead a gang of gun smugglers and just happened to be a police officer alive?

I think for anyone who doesn’t get what black folks shout about repeatedly till they are blue in the face, these two stories deserve to be seen side by side. How cowardly it is to chase an unarmed man down and shoot him dead in his own home when you can’t stand up to those in your ranks who are a much greater danger to society.

This shit has to stop!
