‘tis the season
Fedo just won. Now watching Djokovic vs Devilder Live.
if i wasn’t in BP i’d be watching loads more of it. Caught the highlights of the Tsonga game and saw Murray’s horrible back cramp. Glad he came through tho! Regular RG watching will resume next week. note to self: find a tennis partner and start going to the community courts. i miss my edinburgh tennis buddies…
also, i’ve been told many times how tennis is an upper middle class pastime and i’ve been judged as a snob many times for playing it and following it. well, i’m not. when i was little i had the opportunity to learn it, but just before i was old enough to properly compete i stopped because the family ran out of money. I switched to table tennis. But you don’t want to play against me cos I’ll beat you silly ;).
I started again when I moved to Scotland. I was a member of a community tennis club. Membership cost £45/50 per year and we played at the city council’s concrete courts in the Meadows. Yeah, there are posh clubs with lawn courts, but I play because I enjoy it loads. And I refuse to buy status through it.
